Christy is the former Publications Developer for ReadWriteThink at NCTE. After teaching a variety of students in grades 4-8 and receiving her EdM in Curriculum & Instruction, she joined the ReadWriteThink team. Christy has worked with teachers across the country as they write and review RWT lessons and activities. She enjoys sharing the site with other educators through professional development opportunities.

Using the book The Tale of Despereaux, students look a closer look at medieval times to see if the novel accurately portrays this time in history. Looking at key sections of the book, students will use the Compare and Contrast Guide and Map to help them decipher between fact and fiction.

Children watch the nighttime sky come alive as the read an online book about fascinating elements in the night and write a poem/story about the things they learn!
