Glasceta Honeyghan has a bachelor's degree in English from Boston State College, a master's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a doctorate in language arts and literacy from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She has taught pre-school, middle, high, and most recently, in teacher education.
In 2007, Glasceta joined the faculty at Florida Memorial University, Miami as an assistant professor of language arts and literacy. Her research interests include family literacy and literacy, culture, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Glasceta recently resigned from her job to concentrate more on voluntary activities. Currently, she is directing a project in Jamaica in family literacy.
Dr. Honeyghan belongs to several professional organizations including the International Reading Association and the National Council of Teachers of English.
