"Writing lesson plans for ReadWriteThink makes me both a stronger teacher and a continual learner because it forces me to look at the why of my teaching philosophy, rather than just the how. This internal reflection revitalizes my motivation to help each student reach his or her own unique potential."
Lisa, a northern transplant, is an ardent reader, committed writer, and fervent teacher of seventh grade English language arts. She is a linguist at heart, with a fascination for languages such as those in Tolkien's texts, which she studies when she is not coaching her students to become lifelong learners, working on National Board Certification, penning a mystery novel, or writing lessons for ReadWriteThink.
Lisa is a member of the Alabama Education Association and the National Education Association who serves as a mentor to new teachers, coaches Scholars' Bowl, sits on the Building Leadership Team, and assists her peers in implementing technology in the classroom.
