"With all the responsibilities and work that teaching involves, it is difficult to find time to read professional materials. I love how ReadWriteThink provides that opportunity in each and every lesson."
Vanessa teaches second grade at Unity West Elementary. She has taught second grade for four years and has also taught fifth grade and reading improvement. One of her greatest delights in teaching is finding new ways to approach and teach material. Currently, Vanessa is learning how to implement literacy centers, writer's workshop, and systematic approach to phonics in her own classroom.
When she is not working on lesson plans, Vanessa is a member of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) committee and language arts curriculum committee. She also enjoys working on her class Web site.
