- Large sheet of butcher paper or newsprint for each group
- Crayons and markers

PREPARATION
- Prepare minilessons on the elements of fiction (setting, plot, character, point of view, theme, symbol). Here is a PowerPoint presentation on the elements that my students can refer to on my Forms of Fiction Website. (Scroll down to and click on Elements of Fiction.)
- The class should have chosen a novel and be well into it when this lesson is introduced.
