PREPARATION
- Students should have a working definition of historical fiction.
- Compile historical fiction texts for students to choose from. This lesson relies on texts about illnesses, but any collection could be the focus of a similar study.
- Make copies of the historical fiction guiding questions and the data collection sheet.
- If desired, make copies or an overhead transparency of the Historical Fiction Reflection Questions.
- Test the Venn Diagram tool on your computers to familiarize yourself with the tools and ensure that you have the Flash plug-in installed. You can download the plug-in from the technical support page.
