Matthew Quick's debut YA novel, Sorta Like a Rock Star, offers up a story of hope. With a cast of characters including a homeless teenager, a Korean priest, a Vietnam vet, residents of a Methodist retirement home, a Harvard-educated lawyer, a school marketing teacher, and a group of social outcasts called Franks Freak Force Federation, Sorta Like a Rock Star explores the ways people's lives can be changed through their relationships with others. Tune in to hear Q talk about main character Amber Appleton, the ways she affects people, and the challenges of writing novels that foreground hope.
