As a middle school teacher, Bernadette integrated language arts, reading, and social studies lessons with drama, art, and music. She left the classroom to work as a district-based literacy coach until joining Scholastic as a national reading specialist. Currently, she’s an independent education consultant to several Southeastern schools.
