Jennifer Soalt is currently a literacy specialist for the Lowell, Massachusetts public schools. She has a master's degree in language and literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is certified as a reading specialist in Massachusetts. She has also worked as an elementary teacher in the San Francisco, California public schools, and has written articles for various parenting and educational publications.
