"Through ReadWriteThink I have learned to transfer research into action-steps. Aligning lessons with research and action-steps have created tools that have allowed me, and others, to move forward in good teaching practices. It doesn’t get much better than this!"

Students and teachers must realize a sense of ownership for their work in order to take responsibility for teaching and learning. With ownership comes learning, and teaching, from the inside. When students set goals that align with project and teacher goals, learning becomes meaningful and transfers across content areas. This is called empowerment.

Susan has a master's in education and is pursuing an Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction.
